Saturday’s fundraising event will accept donations from dogs and cats from the Jackson County Humane Society.

The annual Christmas time for animals is set between 1 pm and 4 pm at the shelter at 1109 G Ave. West, Seymour.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this will be a drop-off event. Items needed include paper towels, detergent, Purina Cat Chow (blue bag), Purina Dog Chow (green bag), non-scooped clay cat litter, medium and large dog collars, Nylabones, Kong toys, dog biscuits and soft bacon Or beef dog snacks. Also welcome to the dollar store or gift card with gas card.

Then from 9 am to noon on December 11, the Humane Society will take a photo with Santa at the Paws-N-Klaws pet shop at 631 Second Street, Seymour. Two 5 x 7 inch photos taken by local photographer Emma Zumhingst cost $20.

The proceeds will benefit the Humane Society, a private non-profit animal welfare organization serving Seymour residents and animals. It provides short-term shelter care, lost and found services, adoption, and advice on animal health and behavior for animals.
