A mama cat trusts the family dog to babysit her kittens. Yes, it’s exactly as cute as you imagined.

It might be an unconventional co-parenting situation, but if it works, it works. TikToker @ljayne7 shared a video of her dog Toby helping the postpartum cat manage her litter. Whenever the cat got overwhelmed with her six babies, she knew exactly who to turn to for support.

“She brings her kittens to Toby when she needs a little break,” the caption read.

The cat was captured gathering her kittens one by one and bringing them to the dog bed that Toby was curled up on. She didn’t just place the kittens on the bed; she carefully nestled them up close to his body. Then she went to a separate corner of the bed and took a breather.

The sweet clip received 12.1 million views and 2.5 million likes.

“Not the step father but the father who stepped up,” a user commented.

“Every mom deserves a break every once in a while,” a TikToker replied.

“What is going on is so beautiful it brings me to tears! Mother Nature is so awesome!” another wrote.

“Your beautiful kitty must love and trust your dog with all of her being!” someone added.

“This is too cute, he looks so nervous but is being the goodest boy,” a person said.
