With the expansion of Fitch First Fuel and Pet Products' new base in Greenfield to Saddleworth, the business is booming.

Craig Fitch and Christine Buckley took over the former Donkeystone brewery in the Boarshurst Business Park in October. In addition to their store in Stalybridge, they will also operate the brewery.

Craig explained: “We need more space due to customer demand for inventory and a place to store everything.

"So this will be our warehouse and second store, replicating the services we provide in Stalybridge.

"Because we are from Oldham and have lived in Saddleworth for 17 years, it is very exciting to have our new warehouse in Greenfield.

"We warmly welcome new and old customers to visit."

Available products include anthracite, kiln-dried logs, ecological fuels, peat, wood pellets, firelighters and firelighters, stoves, stove parts and glass.

They are also involved in outdoor life, with barbecues, fire pits and heaters, and they are also the stockists of Calor and Patio Gas.

There are also all kinds of pet products, from bedding, cat litter and pellets to raw dog food, pond or wild bird food.

The company also ensures that waste is minimized in the production of products such as bedding, tinder, and simple lightweight fuel.

Christine said: "We were able to stay open throughout Covid because people need pet food and fuel to make fires."

"We set up a collection point so people can order online, but now we are back to counter sales.

"And we are entering our busiest period-Christmas-so it is a good thing to have this extra space in time."

Two new employees have joined the team, and they will all allocate time between the two sites.
