On Saturday, December 11, Ali-n-Amy and Era King Real Estate will host a special donation event in the parking lot of the Helena Church in the old city.

The event was called the "Saturday Reserve Shelter" and all residents of the Shelby County community were invited to donate various items to help the Shelby Humane Society take care of its four-legged residents.

Acceptable items include warm blankets and towels, paper towels, puppy changing mats, Matsumaru cat litter, bleach bottles for cleaning, blue Dawn soap bottles, and non-clumping clay cat litter.

The event was organized by the real estate agents Ali Carson and Amy Taylor of Ali-n-Amy Real Estate. The two women held another Stock the Shelter event on Saturday, November 13, and the turnout of those who wanted to help was impressive.

"Amy and I want to share our love for the community and our love for animals, by bringing hope, love and inspiration to those who often need our help but cannot ask, and come together with the power of strength and knowledge. "Carson said.

When Carson visited Apryl Stanley, Shelby Humane's public relations coordinator, he realized the importance of the shelter staff.

"I'm shocked by the number of animals they care for and how much money and supplies are needed to care for all these animals every day," Carson said. "If this is a perfect world, there is no need for shelters, but until then, we can provide them with more support for their efforts to save, shelter, reunite, adopt, improve animal health, and educate the public. Shelby Humane helps all Animals will be easier."

Carson added that providing support to employees is also a top priority for the sport.

"This is a thankless job, and we hope that Apryl and her employees know their importance," she said.

Here are the goals set for the drive on December 11th:

Puppy pad packaging: 30 pcs

Bag-Matsumaru cat litter: 25 required

Bottle-dawn soap (blue only) requires 40

Bag-non-caking clay cat litter (Amazon and Walmart): 25 required

Carson added that they only collect the items they need. Each item requested has an important purpose. For example, Blue Dawn soap is gentle on animals, but is good enough to kill fleas and other parasites.

Donors can also provide children with dog and cat stickers, animal print bracelets, and even some four-legged tourists, because Stanley may have pets for adoption or foster care.

The drive will take place from 10 am to 2 pm and will be open to the public.
