Whether it's the shampoo used by Lake County residents for their hair, the scent of candles at home, the fresheners in cat litter, or the air freshener in the car, the smell of these products may be manufactured by Mundelein nearby. Bel Air creation.

The company was established in Highland Park in 1982 to mix the chemicals necessary for the fragrance contained in products such as shampoo and cat litter, then ship them to customers and then make them into final consumer or industrial products.

The company’s CEO Stacey David stated in an email that the company provides “unforgettable and meaningful scent and flavor sensory experiences” to customers around the world. It can even be the aroma of food.

“From the refreshing room spray in the morning to your favorite shower gel after exercise, to the twilight candle scent that relaxes you at night,” David said of the growing company.

Belle Aire opened a new 33,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Round Lake Park on Friday, with 7,000 square-foot office space next to it, which has quadrupled its current operations and has room for further expansion.

Before opening the new factory, David stated that the company operated two factories and a creative center in Mundelein and its corporate headquarters. All manufacturing and operations are now completed in Yuanhu Park. There are 92 employees in the business.

In April, David stated that the headquarters and creative work will move into the Creative Excellence Center in Libertyville, where they will live together. The Mundelein building will no longer be part of operations.

The company's chief operating officer Jason Dhaliwal said that the Round Lake Park plant aims to improve operational efficiency from a manufacturing perspective and provide employees with a better workplace.

Dhaliwal said that putting everything in one place allows employees to collaborate with each other without having to move between two buildings to complete their work. Chemicals are now stored in tanks loaded directly from trucks, rather than in barrels that require more labor.

"Our business is time driven," he said. "Anything we can do to remove obstacles will bring us significant improvement."

Moving into the new factory has improved various efficiencies. Dhaliwal is not two loading docks, but six, and one garage door for trucks to enter the facility. There is no need for recycling bins for bulk chemical storage tanks. There are pumps to mix chemicals.

"All of this reduces waste," he said. "We can recycle drums, but it's expensive. With bulk tanks, you don't have to do this."

Dhaliwal said that in addition to improving industrial efficiency, the new factory has also shortened working hours and added personal time to the lives of company employees. Belle Aire conducted a survey to find out how close or how far away the new facility is from the employee’s home.

"Round Lake Park is closer to every employee," he said. "Every employee lives closer to Round Lake Park than Mundelein."

Faustino Iniguez, a perfume compounder for the company since June and a resident of Round Lake Park, said in an email that he worked in Cook County before joining Belle Aire. Mundelein is closer to home, but the new factory is more helpful to his personal life.

"Belle Aire Creations' new operations and manufacturing facility in Round Lake Park gives me the freedom to spend more time with my family after get off work instead of spending time on the commute," Iniguez said.

Kevin Considine, President and CEO of Lake County Partners, said that Belle Aire's move not only kept the company unchanged throughout the county, but also took up space and SDB products were outdated. SDB moved to Green Oak.

"It's great to see the company develop in Lake County and stay there," Constance said. "Who knew that something like this was produced here," he added to Belle Aire's product portfolio. "You never know that everything (scent) in the cabinet or under the sink is made here"

Belle Aire’s customers include a range of product manufacturers that can add odors, detergents, soaps, surface cleaners, industrial products, scents in automotive products, manufactured pet supplies, and even garbage bags to the air in a home or building . Go to the company website.
